The Beneteau First Series from the mid 1980’s designed by German Frers were arguably some of the finest yachts built by Beneteau from this era. They were intended to compete directly with Nautor Swan's line of German Frers designed models. As such, they are fast, stiff and share many quality construction details and styling features with the Swans, not found in other Beneteau Series.
This Beneteau First 456 is an incredibly attractive masthead sloop with fantastic lines and a powerful rig. It comes with the shoal draft keel, and a swim platform on the stern with an ingenious swim ladder that doubles as a passerelle/ gangway making it easy to board the boat when parked stern-to. The original teak decks have been removed and glassed over.
The handsome salon features wraparound settees and seating for eight at a centerline table with fold-out leaves. After dinner everyone has a place to sleep – there is a master stateroom with desk and en-suite forward, two double cabins each with their own head aft, plus two pilot berths in the salon, which means this boat can sleep eight in comfort. A large navigation station can be found on starboard, and an L-shaped galley on port with refrigeration, a double sink, and a Force 10 stove and oven.
All new battery bank, new hot water heater, Lofrans Tigres electric windlass, good sail inventory including a spinnaker with sock and two poles, all Lewmar winches, feathering prop, and a Perkins inboard diesel that shows and runs well with only 2824 hours.
There's a lot of boat on offer here that will make for a fantastic, fast, long distance cruising yacht.
Plus - TRANSFERABLE MOORAGE AVAILABLE close to Victoria, BC!

Review from Sailing Magazine.net
Designed by the prolific, versatile and immensely talented German Frers, the Beneteau First 456 began life as a powerful, ocean-racing machine, racking up wins in most major offshore races during the early and mid-1980s.
The 456 has gracefully aged into a capable and comfortable performance cruiser that can still surprise around the buoys, especially if it is blowing. It is an excellent choice for a performance oriented cruiser with spacious accommodations. Anyway you look at it, the 456 delivers a lot of boat for the money.Â
